The 2017 League Year is about to start with a blast after the Combine. Check out the most important dates of the year.

The 2016-2017 season was amazing and gave us much to discuss and ponder. With Tom Brady becoming G.O.A.T. after a thrilling Super Bowl against the Atlanta Falcons we said goodbye to an exciting year, and our wait began for the next to arrive. Now that it’s upon us, let’s check out the most important dates of the brand new league year, so far.

March 9th – The 2017 league year and free agency period begin at 4:00 p.m., New York time. Trading period begins after expiration of all 2016 contracts.

March 26th to 29th – Annual League Meeting, Phoenix, Arizona.

Early April – Likely release of Preseason Schedule.

Mid-to-Late April – Likely release of Season Schedule.

April 27th to 29th – 2017 NFL Draft, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

May 22nd to 24th – Spring League Meeting, Chicago, Illinois.

Late June – Rookie Transition Program to be held at individual clubs. Mandatory attendance for all rookies.

Mid-July – Clubs are permitted to open preseason training camp for rookies and first-year players beginning seven days prior to the club’s earliest permissible mandatory reporting date for veteran players.

Veteran players other than QBs or “injured players” may report to a club’s preseason training camp no earlier than 15 days prior to the club’s first scheduled preseason game or July 15, whichever is later.

Veteran QBs and injured players may be required to report to the club’s preseason training camp no earlier than five days immediately prior to the mandatory reporting date for all other veteran players, provided the club has already opened (or simultaneously opens) its official preseason training camp for all rookies and first-year players.

August 3rd – Hall of Fame Game, Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, Canton, Ohio: Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals will face each other.

August 5th – Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony, Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, Canton, Ohio.
