Nothing beats a bowl game matchup featuring a Big 12 and SEC team in Texas.   This year’s Advocare V100 Texas Bowl gives a Texas-sized football fan experience with storied programs in Kansas State and Texas A&M playing in palatial surroundings at Houston’s NRG Stadium.  As NFLFemale’s NCAA Key Contributor, I have media access to let you into the action in Houston, this Bowl Week.

About the Game

The Advocare V100 Texas Bowl is a relative newcomer to the bowl schedule.  However, the city of Houston, with the Houston Texans’ luxurious home at NRG Stadium, put this bowl game on the map as a preferred destination for the bowl season.

About this year’s Kansas State – Texas A&M Matchup

The Kansas State Wildcats had a successful end to their season while the Texas A&M Aggies faltered in conference play.  Overall, both teams come into the game as an even match, which will make the game worth seeing.

Here are key players to watch:

Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett–  Remember Garrett’s name; he’s a future NFL star.  His pass-rush talents make him a formidable defender and he will give Kansas State QB Jesse Ertz a difficult game.

Texas A&M WR Christian Kirk–  As the Aggies’ leading receiver, Kirk will likely have an explosive game against Kansas State’s secondary.

Kansas State RB Charles Jones– Jones, a senior, averages 5.2 yards per carry and will anchor the Wildcats’ offense.

Kansas State LB Elijah Lee– The Wildcats’ team leader in total tackles with 98, Lee will be instrumental in stopping Texas A&M QB Trevor Knight.
