Well, here we are again. It’s game 2 in this year’s NFL International series and this time it’s the Buffalo Bills v the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is the third of a 4 year commitment that the Jags have played a home game in London and their work building a fan base here is evident with more people sporting Jags jerseys, hats and the like.

The weekend was full of events for the UK based and visiting fans with Regent Street (one of the main shopping streets in central London) being closed to traffic for the day for a somewhat damp party due to the typical London weather. I wasn’t there for many of the events this time but did get to see the Bills favourite Jim Kelly take the stage looking great. Whichever team you support you can’t help but root for Jim!

Wembley way was packed as usual on Sunday a few hours before the game but we went in early to take our seats in our season ticket places.

Ohio State University Band kicked us off pre-game with a great display of all things London – Big Ben, London bus and then through some UK greats including: The Who, The Stones & The Beatles.

Both teams were coming to London off a loss and based on the first quarter you could see why. Neither offence made much magic and the D’s didn’t make any big plays. Oh, but Q2 came and Jacksonville woke up!  Fumbles, interceptions and general Bills madness meant that the Jags ran in four TDs in the 2nd. All change.

A much tighter 3rd quarter saw the Bills bring it back to 16-27 and then we had a game!  Where the 2nd quarter saw the Jags score 27 unanswered points, after the break the Bills came back and themselves scored 28 unanswered points. A great 4th quarter saw the Jags eventually hold out for a 31-33 win.

It wasn’t a game for the purists but it is great to have the game in London – each time it’s like a party with fans sporting jerseys from all teams (I was wearing my Jets Fitzpatrick jersey again) just loving the opportunity to watch the sport played at the highest level.  Another great crowd of 84,000 were there to watch this game.

And it’s not over yet – next week we’ll be back again to see Kansas City Chiefs take on the Detroit Lions in what we all thought was going to be the game of the series but after the first two I’m not so sure.
