OMG, it feels so good to say that. I know I have been missing in action for a couple of weeks but I have been enjoying the feeling of being the only undefeated team in the NFL. Yes, I know what you are all saying, “It’s the Minnesota Vikings and we are bound to fall apart in the second half of the season.” Yeah, I get it, BUT we are winners now so I am going to enjoy while I can.
Don’t expect this article to be about statistics, or what went wrong, or how the Vikings are taking years off my life. This article, this glorious article will be about how the Vikings are on top and everyone from the Tom Bradys and the New England Patriots, to the Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are all beneath us (for right now at least).
The Vikings have won five straight games without key players and it is awesome. We found ways to dominate against the overrated Carolina Panthers. I do believe our defense met up with quarterback, Cam Newton a total of eight times that night in week one. Week two against the Green Bay Packers, I do believe that not one single “football” analyst had us defeating the Packers, but guess what we did. It wasn’t pretty but we, the Minnesota Vikings got the job DONE. Moving on to week thee, yeah it really doesn’t matter who we played, just know that we won that one too. Week four and five and the wins keep adding on.
We Vikings fans are enjoying our bye week as the only undefeated team in the NFL and man-oh-man what a feeling it is. When you are on top, everything is better: your clothes fit better, your kids act better, and your food even tastes better. I mean, being on top is GREAT!
Now, I know I am being a little over the top and maybe I am being a sore winner but guess what, I do not care what you think right now. In my eyes, right now we are CHAMPIONS in my own imaginary Super Bowl. So, please, let me be. Let me savor this time because it could be a century before we Vikings ever feel like this again.
After Sunday and Monday night’s games have all been played, football fans around the world will be looking at the Vikings like, “How many more games are they going to win?” I hear you, and I have news for you people, keep your eyes on us because this team is a dream team. We are still a force to be reckoned with, in spite of all the injuries.
With that being said, the Vikings look ahead to week seven against Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have lost two straight games and are in desperate need for more wins. What we know now is that both teams want to win but only one team can. The team that will come out with the win is the disciplined team: the team that has played through so many adversities, the team that has a defense that has dominated week after week. Need I say more.
I leave you with this, they say “one is the loneliest number” but when you’re the lone undefeated team being lonely is AWESOME!
Until next time SKOL!
