Some will rejoice because their units have had poor production over the years but it is sad to see several long-time coaches fired.  The assistants include assistant head coach/linebackers coach Joe Vitt, defensive line coach Bill Johnson, linebackers coach James Willis, special teams coordinator Greg McMahon and assistant special teams coach Stan Kwan, according to a report by Alex Marvez of the Sporting News.

New Orleans Saints fans will remember Joe Vitt fondly from his days as the BountyGate head coach who was outspoken and always a good read.  I agree with the decision by the Saints but lament the loss these coaches will feel both personally and professionally. Some of these men were personal favorites and long-time associates of Sean Payton especially Vitt, Johnson and McMahon who have been with Coach Payton for many, many years.  We wish the best to these men and thank them for great memories.
