On a Monday Night Football showdown the Jets extended their winnings to 2-0. Monday night games are always tough for me because I’m just so darn tired by half time..but this was one that I could NOT miss!

The running game of both teams was mediocre at best, it seemed as though Ryan Fitzpatrick was going more for the passing game. The very first touchdown of the game was scored by wide receiver early on in the first quarter giving the Jets the 7-0 lead to start. Going into half time, the Jets extended their lead with a field goal for 3 from kicker Nick Folk.

Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell spilt the carries on the ground, only rushing for a combined 95 yards the entire game. Neither of the two scored any touchdowns, and Jet fans had a scare when Powell almost lost his first ever fumble as a Jet in the last quarter, but thankfully, we were able to recover. The second TD from the Jets was a Fitzpatrick to Brandon Marshall pass in the middle of the 4th quarter. Before that the Colts had only scored 1 TD making the score 10-7 leading into the last quarter, where after the Marshall TD, put the Jets up 17-7. After another Folk field goal, the Jets were the winners of this Monday night showdown.

The real story here is Darelle Revis and the rest of our defense, they stole the show! They had 5 total takeaways, 3 of them interceptions and two fumble recoveries.  Defense held the Colts to only 17 first downs for a total of 343 offensive yards the entire game. Of the 5 takeaways, Revis was responsible for two recovered fumbles, and an interception.  He has won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, and has shown us all (what us Jet fans already knew) was that he is a cornerback to be reckoned with.

Injury updates

Eric Decker is currently listed as “day to day” after a knee injury during the second half of the game.  Decker went for an MRI on Tuesday and it has shown to be just a sprain, not requiring any surgery. Coach Bowles is not sure what Decker’s status will be for Sunday’s home game against the Eagles, and will “see how he’s doing later in the week” before making a decision about his status.

Revis is HOME and it feels great to have him back!
